With over 5,500 flight hours, Captain Rahim Munir Datoo is a disciplined, safety-driven pilot known for his calm presence, attention to detail, and ability to perform confidently in structured, team-focused environments.

Rahim began his aviation training at Mosswood Aviation, completing his Private Pilot Licence, before advancing to 43 Air School, where he earned his Commercial Pilot Licence and Instrument Rating. His professional experience includes flying with Regional Air, where he further refined his operational skills, before joining Miracle Air.

Throughout his career, Rahim has operated a range of aircraft: Piper Seneca, Cessna Grand Caravan, and Twin Otter – each step strengthening his professionalism, judgment, and adaptability.

With solid experience as the Pilot in Command, co-pilot, and in instrument conditions, Rahim’s flight hours have sharpened his communication, decision-making, and handling across varied environments and operational demands.

Rahim enjoys flying to Zanzibar for its scenic approaches and busy airspace, as well as South Africa, where structured routes and diverse terrain continuously challenge and refine his skills.

Rahim chose Miracle Air for its strong safety culture, disciplined operations, and professional standards – an environment that values discipline, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

To Rahim, safety begins long before the aircraft leaves the ground. It starts at home, extends to the external environment and weather, and continues through the aircraft itself. He places strong emphasis on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Crew Resource Management (CRM), ensuring every flight is conducted with consistency and care.

Rahim’s ambition is to continue growing into a highly reliable pilot and, in time, take on greater responsibility through mentoring and training future pilots.
Outside flying, Rahim enjoys staying active, travelling, spending time with family and friends, and building meaningful connections – activities that keep him balanced and ready for duty.
