Captain Janvi Dipak Laxman began her aviation journey in 2016 in South Africa, training with AAA 4 Pilots. Starting as a young woman in a competitive field wasn’t easy, but her discipline and steady determination kept her moving forward. Even when COVID slowed the industry in 2020, Janvi refined her skills and stayed committed to her dream of flying professionally.
She joined Miracle Air for its culture of growth, opportunity, and focus on charter operations – an area she loves for its variety and the challenges each flight brings. Janvi especially enjoys bush flying, with Manyara being one of her favourite strips: scenic but demanding, “challenging, but amazing.”
One of her proudest moments came before joining Miracle Air. Raised by a single mother after losing her father at the age of two, Janvi reached a defining milestone on 24th August 2018, when she had the privilege of flying her mother as a passenger after earning her Commercial Pilot Licence. This moment stood as a powerful testament to her dedication and hard work, bringing immense pride and personal fulfilment.
Another defining professional moment came later, when she was invited for her first interview with Miracle Air, followed by a paid opportunity to fly, an experience that confirmed she was exactly where she wanted to be.
With over 500 flight hours, Janvi continues to grow as a pilot, guided by her personal philosophy:
“Every day is a new blessing. Be grateful, and women should be given more opportunities in aviation.”
Her colleagues know her as:
Hardworking. Honest. Dedicated.
